GOGO ChiAmami

Keti Berishvili was born into a winemaking family, learning the craft alongside her father, Kakha Berishvili, a pivotal figure in the natural wine movement and a mentor to many winemakers in Kakheti. Originally, Kakha produced wine under the Artanuli Gvino label until 2021, when he and Keti decided to unify their efforts under Keti’s brand, GOGO, which means 'girl' in Georgian. Launched in 2015, GOGO celebrates the significant yet often overlooked contributions of women to Georgian winemaking, a field traditionally dominated by men. While the brand represents a partnership across generations, GOGO is very much Keti's creation, with Kakha dedicating his time to the vineyards and serving as a guiding figure, much like a devoted grandfather to GOGO.

Gogo winery is located in the Napareuli microzone, which is nestled between the foothills of the Tsiv-Gombori mountains and the Alazani River. The eastern Kakheti region in this area is fertile for the cultivation of several rare grape varietals.

To make this fun, fresh red wine, Rkatsiteli juice is placed over saperavi skins in qvevri for fermentation, then aged for 2 months in qvevri and stainless steel! It's deep and interesting with present tannins that are soft and food friendly. Not funky.
